Transfiguration
The revelation of Christ's divine glory on Mount Tabor — August 6; the prototype of theosis.
The Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-9) is the event in which Christ's face shone like the sun and his garments became dazzling white before Peter, James, and John. Orthodox theology, following St. Gregory Palamas, holds that the light of the Transfiguration is uncreated: the divine glory of the Logos shining through his human nature. The Transfiguration is the prototype of theosis.
