Eschatology
The doctrine of the last things — death, judgment, resurrection, and the life of the age to come.
Eschatology is the theological study of the 'last things': death, the particular judgment, the state of souls between death and resurrection, the Parousia, the general resurrection, and the final judgment. Orthodox eschatology holds to a genuine bodily resurrection, affirms the real possibility of Hell as genuine separation from God, and is Paschal in character — Easter is the anticipation of the general resurrection.
