Oikonomos
Steward — the administrative officer of a diocese or monastery; also used theologically for those entrusted with divine gifts.
Oikonomos (from oikos, house, and nomos, law/manager) is the steward — the one entrusted with managing the household's affairs. In ecclesiastical use, the oikonomos is the administrative officer of a diocese or the manager of a monastery's temporal affairs. Theologically, St. Paul uses the term for himself as a 'steward of the mysteries of God' (1 Corinthians 4:1-2): the ordained minister as steward of divine gifts, responsible for their faithful distribution. The concept connects to oikonomia: the one who practices economy is the household manager.
